August Wrap Up

August Wrap Up

I know, I know….September is upon us.  And, it just so happens to be my favorite time of the year!  Before we get into all things fall, it seems fitting to share my August Wrap Up with you all!

Remember those awesome Christmas letters you’d receive from friends or family showcasing their highlights throughout the year?  I always enjoyed reading them especially if I hadn’t stayed in touch with them all that much.  It was nice to read about how Lisa got a new car her senior year or how Johnny took his kids to Europe for the summer.  Seriously though, I don’t even know a Johnny who could even afford Europe.  But, you get my point.

Why in the hell was nothing ever shared about how little Timmy got caught with a pinch hitter at school and got suspended?  Or, why wasn’t anything ever shared about how Susie made money online by showing her feet to weirdos with foot fetishes?  Now, THOSE little additional gems would’ve made Christmas cards so much more interesting!

Anyway,  I got to thinking about those lovely letters and wanted to start writing my own but, in doodle form and just for my eyes.  So, I added a “wrap up” of the month at the end of my monthly bullet journal pages.  Here is a breakdown of what I include in my monthly spread.

What goes in my monthly bullet journal

  1. Cover Page-  I’ll either use one page or two, depending on how I want to design it.  This is where I draw out a calendar for the month
  2. Gratitude Page-  to…ya know…write down what I’m grateful for.  This healthy habit keeps me from breaking shit or kicking the dog because I have bad days just like everyone else.
  3. Monthly Bills-  I write down every bill (recurring as well), their due dates, and budget on this page.  It may seem monotonous to write out the same bills every month.  However, seeing revolving bullshit keeps me focused on paying them off quicker.
  4. Weekly Pages-  Here, I use a whole page spread to write out my week broken up into daily boxes.  You can add to-do lists, work stuff, or notes as well.
  5. Monthly Meal Plan-  This page can get awfully cramped but, I’m still trying to find the best system on keeping up with what we eat at home.  It will definitely be something I will share in the future as it is an entire post rich with information.
  6. Daily journal pages-  Then…I cut loose with daily journaling pages.  Sometimes, it can be half a page.  Other days, I am writing a book.

My August Wrap Up

  • Work has me home for a long stretch!  It’s been so nice to shower a reign of terror onto my kids in person.
  • The summer heat had me cussing on the daily at stupid drivers and whoever left the “idiot bag” open.
  • So far, I have been doing pretty good with my plant-based eating journey!
  • I started watching G.O.T. for the third time and I have no idea why.
  • I bought new makeup but, still need new bras.  Uggghhhh…I loathe bra shopping.
  • I am wrapping up an eBook on Smoothies 101.  I am hoping people will love it.
  • One kid left me to go back to college and the other two are off to a great start in their school year.
  • My sister’s recovery from toe amputation is coming along slowly but, great.  I wonder if SHE could make money online from weirdos with amputee fetishes?
  • I got a new dishwasher but, the bitch won’t open because it’s too big for the space the old one was in!  Now, I have to get my cabinets shaved off a little…like, what????
  • The month ended with me in bed for a day with a pulled back muscle, a heating pad, and no fucking snacks within reach.

So, that is my August Wrap Up!  And, all of this is in my journal.  Someday, when I am long gone, my grandkids or some other nosy person will get to read it all.  Fun, right?  If you don’t journal now, give it a shot.  It can be therapeutic and a chance to have some “me” time.  Pick a time of the day to work on it, put on some of your favorite music, and journal.

Or, listen to my tasty jams I have had on repeat this past month.  Until next time!
